This 1967 Gibson FJN Folk Singer Jumbo is a big, bold vintage acoustic built for players who want commanding projection with classic Gibson warmth and character. The Folk Singer sits in the jumbo family, offering a wide, room-filling voice that works beautifully for strumming, singer-songwriter accompaniment, and roots-oriented flatpicking, while still retaining enough balance for more nuanced playing.

The guitar has a 2" nut width that offers lots of room to work and big string spacing at the bridge as well.  This is a finger picker's dream!  Strung with bronze strings, it is a cannon.  Its a beauty as well!  The bridge was replaced at some point with a new one that has an angled/compensated saddle in place of the original that has a straight, classical saddle.

The neck is straight and the action is perfect.  An older TKL case is included - it is in nice shape itself.

This example shows light wear and tremendous vintage appeal.  The sound is open, lively, and inspiring. It’s the kind of jumbo that feels equally at home on a small stage, in the studio, or as a powerful couch guitar for songwriting and practice.

The large body moves plenty of air, delivering a strong low end, clear highs, and a woody, supportive midrange that anchors a mix without getting boomy. Chords bloom with authority, single notes stay defined, and the guitar responds dynamically to changes in attack. The neck has that comfortable, familiar late-’60s Gibson feel that invites long sessions, and like any good vintage Gibson acoustic, it has a mature, open resonance that only decades of aging can provide.

As with all instruments at Mahar’s Vintage Guitars, it has been fully inspected, photographed accurately, and professionally evaluated to ensure it plays its absolute best.

We buy, sell, and take trades.
