This 1963 Gibson Falcon GA-19RVT is a beautifully preserved, original example of one of Gibson’s most underrated vintage amplifiers—freshly serviced and ready to deliver its lush, tube-driven tones. With its built-in reverb and tremolo, and warm, articulate sound, the Falcon represents Gibson’s answer to Fender’s Deluxe Reverb of the same era.
Gibson built these amps with a sort of a governor built in. The intent was to keep the amps from overdriving when Gibson guitars with powerful humbuckers were plugged in. This held the amps back from the tone we all love in tube guitar amps. This amp was serviced prior to its arrival here, and this circuitry was removed. Electrolytic caps were replaced as well. Someone did a really nice job servicing the amp. It sounds killer, and it's ready to go for decades of use. We tested all the tubes and cleaned the pots. The tubes are all old, US made tubes that are likely to outlast all of us.
The transformers and speaker are original. The power cable was replaced with a grounded one. These amps have hard wired footswitches, which is cool because they're always there.
Powered by a pair of 6V6 tubes, the GA-19RVT delivers approximately 15 watts through its original 12-inch Jensen speaker, providing shimmering cleans at lower volumes and smooth, compressed overdrive when pushed. The onboard reverb is deep and organic, while the tremolo circuit produces a pulsing, vintage swirl that’s as musical as it is hypnotic. This example retains its original transformers, speaker, and covering, with professional servicing ensuring stable and reliable performance.
At Mahar’s Vintage Guitars, every amplifier is inspected, photographed accurately, and fully tested. We buy, sell, and accept trades on vintage Gibson and Fender amplifiers. Shipping policy:
When you purchase this item you are hereby agreeing to this shipping policy. We remove tubes from amps that could be damaged in shipping. These cases require the buyer to re-install them on delivery - it is very easy with this amp, and we label them so you know exactly where to put them. We do this because we have experienced shipping issues in the past, and this is our prevention measure. Vintage amps are sold as-is because they can need service intermittently. Everything is tested here in our shop on the way into our inventory, and again before shipping. We will cover shipping damage, but we cannot be responsible for the failure of vintage components in 20-to-50-plus year old amps. Shipments will require signature on delivery, no exceptions. If there is damage, the buyer must retain all packing materials intact and picture them immediately and send them to sales@maharsvintageguitars.com. Less than 1% of our shipments are damaged in transit, and we are committed to making sure your item arrives safely, but we are taking these additional measures to make sure you are happy with your purchase.
