This 1974 Fender Telecaster Custom in Black is a classic example of Fender’s early-’70s evolution, blending traditional Telecaster snap with the added power and versatility of a wide-range humbucker in the neck position.
Tele Customs in black are subject to the Keith Richards Effect as he used one from the late 70s through the early 80s.
This is just about the perfect example. These guitars are usually heavy, but black Customs have alder bodies, so this one weighs just a hair over 7.5 pounds. The neck has that comfortable, broken-in vintage feel that makes these guitars so enjoyable to play for long sessions. The parts and finish are all original. The frets have been leveled and crowned once, and there is plenty of meat left on them. The truss rod is fully functional, and the setup came out great. The case is original to the guitar, making this a killer package.
As with all instruments at Mahar’s Vintage Guitars, it has been fully inspected, photographed accurately, and professionally evaluated to ensure it plays its absolute best.
We buy, sell, and take trades.
