This early 1965 Strat is everything you want in a vintage Fender - a guitar that you can, and will, want to play every day.

The body and neck were expertly refinished and aged by Joe Riggio.  You see zero original Sherwood green Strats, even refins, and Joe nailed the color.  The body nicely matches the neck.  The neck finished fooled me, and Joe thought that he remembered finishing the body only, but I do think it is refinished.

Much of the guitar is original, but I'll start with the changes.  The tuners are aged reproductions.  There are no new holes or changes to the headstock. The switch is a modern 5-way.  The original switch is included in the case.  The frets are jumbos.  The originals are included in the case as well.  There is no backplate included.  The bridge saddles are reproduction parts.  The bridge is original.

The knobs are original.  The pickguard and shield are original.  The pickups and pots are original.  The jack cup is original.  The neck plate is original.  The neck retains its date stamp - 2MAR65B.

The case is correct for the period - a no-logo case that is correct for 1964 and early '65 guitars.

The original pickups are right in the pocket, reading just below 6k ohms. They aren't as hot as some mid-to-late-60s pickups and retain that vintage Fender tone that players love in pre-CBS Strats from '63and '64.

This is a supreme player.  Some might find the jumbo frets off-putting, but they play amazingly well.  We've had multiple guitars come through with these frets, all installed by the same luthier, and we've had a couple refretted without an issue, in case you were wondering.
