This 1960 Fender Bandmaster G67-A head and matching 1x12 "tone ring" cabinet is a stunning early example of Fender’s transitional “blonde era” amplifiers.

It is by far the cleanest example I've ever seen, and the original covers are included.  The speaker cable, tolex, grille, handle, and all the hardware are original.

I purchased this amp along with a full set of early 60's, white blonde Fenders from a fellow dealer who has mostly retired but showed up at a recent guitar show with an incredible amp stash.  I couldn't help myself - I bought all of his amps.  In the group is a tone ring Tremolux, a tone ring Showman, and a tone ring Bassman - oh, and a white Twin!  They all are in amazing shape and have the original covers.  Check them out here on our site while the last!  These amps have been hiding for decades and have never hit the market.

Representing the bridge between the tweed 5E7 Bandmaster and the blackface circuits that would follow, this amp delivers the perfect blend of warmth, clarity, and dynamic range that defined early ’60s Fender tone. With its oxblood grille cloth, wheat-colored rough tolex, and chrome hardware, it’s a visual and tonal masterpiece from Leo Fender’s most innovative period.

Powered by dual 6L6 tubes and rated around 40 watts, the G67-A circuit produces sparkling cleans and creamy overdrive with unmistakable harmonic richness.  The harmonic tremolo in this series of Fender amps is to die for.  The black panel era amps just don't compare.

The rare tone ring cabinet design gives this amp remarkable low-end resonance and projection, while retaining the articulate highs and punch that make it ideal for surf, blues, country, and early rock.  The beautifully clean Jensen P12N was thrilling to find in the cab, which is pristine inside.

This example remains in near mint condition—clean and fully functional.  The transformers are original and there were no changes to the amp when it arrived here.

The amp has been fully serviced here in our shop, where I installed a new set of filter caps, hiding them inside the original Astron sleeves.  I replaced the bypass caps as well.  The original parts are included.

Everything works flawlessly and the amp sounds wonderful.  The vibrato is spellbinding.

At Mahar’s Vintage Guitars, all amplifiers are thoroughly inspected, tested, and photographed accurately.

Shipping policy:

When you purchase this item you are hereby agreeing to this shipping policy. We remove tubes from amps that could be damaged in shipping.  These cases require the buyer to re-install them on delivery - it is very easy with this amp, and we label them so you know exactly where to put them.  We do this because we have experienced shipping issues in the past, and this is our prevention measure.  Vintage amps are sold as-is because they can need service intermittently.  Everything is tested here in our shop on the way into our inventory, and again before shipping.  We will cover shipping damage, but we cannot be responsible for the failure of vintage components in 20-to-50-plus year old amps. Shipments will require signature on delivery, no exceptions.  If there is damage, the buyer must retain all packing materials intact and picture them immediately and send them to sales@maharsvintageguitars.com.  Less than 1% of our shipments are damaged in transit, and we are committed to making sure your item arrives safely, but we are taking these additional measures to make sure you are happy with your purchase.
