The 1964 Fender Concert is actually a pretty rare amp. It was made in this configuration for less than a year, as the Super Reverb came into the line with the same speaker configuration and circuit. This is a 40-watt, 4x10 combo built around a pair of 6L6 power tubes. The amp produces the wide, clean headroom Fender blackface amps are known for — a full low end, articulate mids, and clean treble that breaks up when pushed. This example is in excellent cosmetic condition with an original black tolex cabinet, original grille cloth, original baffle, and original chassis — all in good to very good shape.
The Concert was part of Fender's professional-tier blackpanel lineup. The 1964 date puts this amp in the pre-CBS window. The Concert shares the same basic circuit topology as the Vibrolux Reverb and Super Reverb-era designs but without onboard reverb, making it a straightforward, high-headroom workhorse. Original 4x10 Fender-branded Oxford speakers are increasingly difficult to find intact in working amps of this age, and the presence of four original drivers here (two with original cones, two reconed) adds to its collector value. The pine cabinet and baffle are original.
Two of the four Fender-by-Jensen 10" speakers (positions 1 and 4) have been reconed — speakers 2 and 3 retain original cones. The amp has been professionally serviced before it arrived here. The power transformer has been replaced; it is a Thordarson-Meissner unit (code 238, date code 9608) and is not original to the amp. The choke (Schumacher 606, date code 4-02) and output transformer (Schumacher 606, date code 4-07) are original. Filter caps have been replaced. Power cable is a grounded three-prong. Current power tubes are GT 6L6s; preamp tubes are Realistic and RCA (12AT7, 3x 12AX7). No cover is included.
Tubes were all tested, pots and tube sockets cleaned, and the amp runs perfectly.

Shipping Policy
By completing your purchase you are agreeing to this shipping policy. Shipments require signature on delivery, no exceptions. Less than 1% of our shipments are damaged in transit, and we are committed to making sure your item arrives safely. If there is damage, retain all packing materials intact, photograph them immediately, and send the photos to sales@maharsvintageguitars.com.
Amplifiers: We take additional precautions to prevent common shipping damage. Depending on the amp, this may include removing tubes, pulling the chassis from the cabinet if heavy transformers present a drop risk, or removing heavy speakers that could crack baffles in transit. Reassembly is required on delivery — we label everything clearly. These measures add to shipping costs but reflect hard-won experience. Vintage amplifiers (20 years or older) are sold as-is — all amps are tested in our shop upon intake and again before shipping. We cover shipping damage but cannot be responsible for the failure of vintage components in instruments that are 20 to 50-plus years old.
