This 2011 Gretsch G6128T Duo Jet captures the sound and style of one of Gretsch’s most legendary guitars.
Originally introduced in the 1950s, the Duo Jet became a favorite of players seeking a blend of Gibson-like sustain and Gretsch sparkle—and this modern version delivers that vintage character with impeccable craftsmanship.
Featuring a chambered mahogany body with an arched maple top, the G6128T produces a resonant, airy tone with balanced mids and bright clarity. The pair of Filter’Tron pickups offers classic Gretsch chime and punch, while the Bigsby B3C vibrato tailpiece provides smooth, expressive pitch modulation. The neck is slim and fast, topped with an ebony fingerboard and neo-classic thumbnail inlays, combining playability and elegance.
This example is in excellent condition, with minimal wear and includes its original hard shell case. All the original paperwork is included too.
There are no changes, repairs, or issues whatsoever.
The frets show little use. Light handling wear shows here and there in person - light enough to make it hard to show in photographs. The guitar set up very nicely with a straight neck and killer action. There is room in the truss rod for future neck relief adjustments.
These Japanese build Gretsch guitars play so well - better than the vintage ones, honestly. Original examples are amazing, but they always have somewhat wonky necks and fretboards, and they're just kind of quirky. There is a consistency to the modern guitars that Gretsch just wasn't capable of back in the day.
The Gretsch Duo Jet has been played by legends like George Harrison, Jeff Beck, and Billy Zoom. Originally launched in 1953 as Gretsch’s answer to the Les Paul, the Duo Jet’s semi-hollow design and Filter’Tron pickups created a unique tonal blend—punchy, airy, and articulate—that defined early rock and roll and remains a studio favorite to this day.
