This British Pedal Company Tone Bender Professional MKII is a meticulous recreation of one of the most legendary fuzz circuits ever made—built using hand-selected germanium transistors, period-correct components, and authentic construction methods. Faithful to the late-’60s three-transistor MKII design, this pedal delivers the thick, ripping sustain and explosive, harmonically rich fuzz that defined the tones of Jimmy Page, Jeff Beck, and countless British rock pioneers. This example is in excellent condition and includes its original box, making it ideal for players and collectors alike.
This one just emerged from a big collection of pedals that all look pretty much unused. The most recent pedals in the collection were about 6 or 7 years old, so that's how old I assume this one is.
The BPC MKII excels at searing lead tones, gritty riff work, and dynamic cleanup via your guitar’s volume knob. It responds beautifully to both single-coils and humbuckers, rewarding strong pick attack and expressive playing. Its vintage-style enclosure, wiring, and transistor selection give it an authenticity that stands out among modern fuzz designs.
Players consistently praise the MKII recreations: “Closest I’ve heard to a real ’60s Bender” (The Gear Page), “Tons of sustain without losing clarity” (Reddit r/Guitar), “Germanium magic done right” (Harmony Central), “Explosive, raw, and inspiring” (Ultimate Guitar), and “A holy-grail fuzz circuit” (MyLesPaul Forum).
The original Tone Bender MKII shaped iconic tones from Jimmy Page, Jeff Beck, Mick Ronson, and Pete Townshend, making it one of the most historically important fuzz pedals in rock history.
