This Roy Noble DH-100 is among the very best sounding acoustic guitars I've ever had in the shop.  If you haven't noticed, we've had 30s, 40s, and 50s Martin and Gibson acoustics - some of the most coveted guitars on the market - and this guitar very seriously rivals them all.  You will be blown away.

The guitar just came back from one of our luthiers, Sacramento's own Mark Dobbins, who performed a flawless neck reset on the guitar.  When we received the guitar, the action was high and the saddle low.  It plays perfectly now.

The original frets have likely been milled once, but they have enough life to last a lifetime.  The neck is perfect.  There are no cracks, repairs (other than the neck reset and resulting saddle replacement), and no changes to the finish.

The woods are visibly of the highest quality.  The bookmatched back is out of this world.  The sides are matched as well - check out the grain symmetry.

This 1996 Roy Noble DH-100 is a hand-crafted dreadnought acoustic built by one of America’s most respected luthiers, Roy Noble. Known for his work with artists like Vince Gill, James Taylor, and Doc Watson, Noble’s guitars are renowned for their balance, projection, and tonal sophistication.

The mahogany neck and ebony fingerboard provide a smooth, articulate feel, while Noble’s precision bracing design ensures incredible responsiveness and dynamic range. The craftsmanship is exquisite—clean purfling, flawless binding, and perfectly voiced resonance that only the best boutique builders achieve.

At Mahar’s Vintage Guitars, every instrument is inspected, photographed accurately, and set up for peak performance.
