This 2014 Pete Cornish TB-83X Treble Boost is a hand-built, studio-grade booster from one of the most respected effects designers in the world.
Known for crafting rigs for icons like David Gilmour, Brian May, Mark Knopfler, and Lou Reed, Pete Cornish designs every pedal to military-spec standards with unmatched noise reduction, clarity, and reliability. The TB-83X is his refined, modernized take on the classic late-’60s/early-’70s treble booster—a circuit that helped define the sound of British rock.
This pedals is in excellent condition and it sounds killer. The warranty seals were opened before the pedal arrived here. It works perfectly and is unaltered. This one was originally labeled for Greg Simpson, right below the serial number.
Unlike many vintage treble boosters that can be harsh or thin, the TB-83X offers a thicker, harmonically rich boost with a strong midrange voice, perfect for pushing tube amps into sweet, sustaining overdrive. It adds presence and chime without brittleness, making it a powerful tool for lead work, crunchy rhythm tones, or stacking with overdrives and fuzzes. This example is in excellent condition and remains all original.
Players consistently praise Cornish gear: “The quietest and cleanest booster I’ve used” (The Gear Page), “Pure tone enhancer—no noise, no hiss” (Reddit r/Guitar), “Cornish build quality is next-level” (Harmony Central), “Stacks beautifully with any drive” (Ultimate Guitar), and “Worth every penny for its musicality” (MyLesPaul Forum).
Treble boosters like the TB-83X trace their lineage to classic tones from Brian May, Rory Gallagher, and Tony Iommi, where boosting a cranked amp creates the iconic British overdrive sound.
