This Mesa Boogie Mark II C+ bears a date from March of 1985 and a mid 14000s serial number, likely making it one of the last to leave the Petaluma shop.

The amp very recently visited Mike B at Boogie for a checkup.  I put the RMA sticker on the speaker, dated 11/11/25.  It is totally dialed and it sounds absolutely incredible!

This 1985 Mesa Boogie Mark IIC+ DRG 75W Simul-Class 1x12 combo is one of the most sought-after amplifiers ever built—especially in this rare Cream Tolex with wicker grille configuration. The IIC+ is the definitive high-gain Boogie, delivering singing sustain, tactile response, and incredible harmonic complexity. This example is the DRG (Dual Mode, Reverb & Graphic EQ) variant, offering "Simul Class" operation - a blend of Class A and Class AB operation for unmatched dynamics and feel.

Loaded with its original 1x12 speaker, this combo produces the legendary Mark-series lead voice that helped shape the sound of Metallica, Dream Theater, Santana, and countless others. It delivers crystal cleans, explosive crunch, and the unmistakable liquid sustain that only a real IIC+ can provide. The amp is in excellent vintage condition and functions flawlessly.

Excerpts from real end-user online reviews of the Mark IIC+:
“Still the holy grail of Boogie tone.” – The Gear Page
“The IIC+ lead channel is breathtaking.” – Rig-Talk
“No modern amp responds like an original IIC+.” – Reddit r/Guitar
“Simul-Class is magic—big, warm, and alive.” – Harmony Central
“Worth every bit of the hype.” – Fractal Forum

Notable Players / History
Widely considered Mesa’s finest work, the Mark IIC+ became the defining amp for Metallica’s Master of Puppets and …And Justice for All. Perhaps a few thousand Mark IIC amps were true “plus” models, making originals extremely collectible today.

Shipping policy:

When you purchase this item you are hereby agreeing to this shipping policy. We remove tubes from amps that could be damaged in shipping.  These cases require the buyer to re-install them on delivery - it is very easy with this amp, and we label them so you know exactly where to put them.  We remove the chassis of amps with heavy transformers and ship them separately as their weight can distort the chassis if the box is dropped in shipping.  We remove heavy speakers from amps as they can crack baffles, especially amps with particle board chassis.  These cases require customers to reassemble amps.  It also costs us more.  The shipping cost is higher as a result.  We do this because we have experienced shipping issues in the past, and this is our prevention measure.  Vintage amps are sold as-is because they can need service intermittently.  Everything is tested here in our shop on the way into our inventory, and again before shipping.  We will cover shipping damage, but we cannot be responsible for the failure of vintage components in 20-to-50-plus year old amps. Shipments will require signature on delivery, no exceptions.  If there is damage, the buyer must retain all packing materials intact and picture them immediately and send them to sales@maharsvintageguitars.com.  Less than 1% of our shipments are damaged in transit, and we are committed to making sure your item arrives safely, but we are taking these additional measures to make sure you are happy with your purchase.
