This Country Gent has seen some play, but it held up really nicely and has the look that only played guitars have.

Gretsches from this era aren't the most highly sought after guitars, but to me they are better playing and more serviceable guitars than most of the mid to late 60s pieces I see.  They don't get the nasty binding rot that earlier examples suffer from, the neck sets are much better, and the guitars are simply more playable.

The only changed parts are the base of the bridge and the strap buttons.  We assume that the bridge base isn't original because it didn't hug the top very well, and the height adjustment wheels are chrome as well.  We properly sanded the bottom of the bridge to better fit the curve of the top, which does help the tone.  The bridge is original.  The saddles have been cut a little deep, but it intonates well and the guitar sets up very nicely.  There are two screw holes in the top between the bridge and the treble pickup.

All other parts are original, including the sweet Bigsby.  There is one added screw next to the Bigsby for some reason.

An armrest was added to the top.  It look perfect there so we're just going to leave it where it is!

There are no other changes to the guitar.

The color is strong and the binding is in great shape - no sign of the notorious Gretsch binding rot.  Frets show wear and a previous fret mill but are in great shape and will last a long time.  The truss rod was tested and there is room for future adjustment.  Electronics are untouched and work great.

Non original hardshell case included.
