Gibson SG Standard 1968 Cherry
$8,999.99No sales tax for customers outside California.
This SG standard is one of 1340 made in 1968, and it might be the nicest one out there. It was purchased from the original owner, who received it as a birthday present from his parents.
He played the guitar regularly as a teenage rock-n-roller, but moved to his ES-335 as his guitar paying taste changed in the mid 70s. We have this move to thank for sparing heavy play time on this guitar.
The SG is original throughout with the exception of the tremolo arm. The screw holding it to the vibrola is original, as is the rest of the tremolo setup.
Solders are undisturbed and the frets are in excellent shape. The pickups sound fantastic, with covers that have never been unsoldered and patent number stickers are intact. The neck is perfect and there is room in the truss rod for future neck relief adjustments. The original case is included - it is in excellent shape as well.
We have a 1968 Marshall Super Bass plexi head and matching 1960b cab that would pair nicely with this, FYI.
