We've got a few player's grade Les Pauls around suddenly, and we're not sad about it.  This one has seen some work and would b a great candidate for some heavy customization.  It also rocks just as is.

This Custom is from 1976.  Gibson made 288 Tobacco Sunburst Customs in '76, and right around $2400 in total throughout the 70s.

The guitar has had a neck repair at the headstock and it was oversprayed to cover the repair.  A serial number was applied after the work, one that would date the guitar as a 1974-1975, but features like the maple neck and the potentiometer codes point to 1976.

The pots do appear to be original to the guitar.  We had the nut replaced as the non-original brass one just wasn't cutting it.  Frets are original and have plenty of life left.  There actually is little wear to them.

The neck pickup is an original with the patent number embossed n the back plate.  The bridge pickup looks to be a 70ss or early 80s DiMarzio - a hot one!

The tuners are original.  Knobs are changed, as is the pickguard, but the replacement does look like an older one.  The output jack plate is changed and it is dented in a bit.

The bridges are both original, as are the pickup rings.  A somewhat recent, non original hardshell case is included.
