Gibson acoustics from this period are known to have issues with the tortoise binding around the top and back. That is the case with this guitar. The binding has fully let go and is crumbling away throughout.
Otherwise the guitar is in fair condition, cosmetically and functionally, and it sounds good too. It will need to have the binding replaced to be enjoyed however.
The original case was subject to some water damage and is in touch shape at the lower bout area. The guitar appears to have been subject to some of this moisture, resulting only in some discoloration to the finish.
Original tuners are in place. Frets are in good condition. The neck angle is reasonably good. The truss rod was tested and is functional. It will be a useable guitar when restored, and it is playable and works just fine as-is.
Shipping policy:
Three day UPS air shipments will be automatic for buyers including these states and those to the east of them: Montana, South Dakota, Nebraska, Kansas, Oklahoma, Texas. Shipments will require signature on delivery, no exceptions. If there is damage, the buyer must retain all packing materials intact and picture them immediately and send them to sales@maharsvintageguitars.com. Less than 1% of our shipments are damaged in transit, and we are committed to making sure your item arrives safely, but we are taking these additional measures to make sure you are happy with your purchase.
