This 1953 Gibson ES-295 is a fully original, premium-grade example of one of Gibson’s most visually striking and sonically rich archtops from the early electric era.  A total of just 1770 ES-295s were built by Gibson between 1952 and 1958.

It is so nice to run into an all-original, no-excuses example.  The original case is also in amazing condition.   You won't find a better one!

It was an easy setup with this one - the neck is perfect, the original frets show lots of life, and the truss rod has room for future neck relief adjustments.

Finished in its iconic gold lacquer with cream appointments, this ES-295 shares its DNA with the Les Paul Goldtop and the ES-175, delivering its voice through a full hollowbody maple construction and dual P-90 pickups.

The tone is pure 1950s Gibson—warm and open with shimmering highs, woody mids, and that unmistakable P-90 bite when pushed. The original trapeze tailpiece, gold-plated hardware, and bound rosewood fingerboard add to the elegant yet unmistakably vintage aesthetic. The neck is a comfortable early-’50s profile.

At Mahar’s Vintage Guitars, all vintage pieces are examined in detail, photographed accurately, and professionally set up.
