This 2012 Gibson BFG “Gator” Les Paul in Trans Black delivers one of the most stripped-down, raw, and rebellious takes on the classic Les Paul ever built. With its satin-finished carved maple top and chambered mahogany body, the BFG (Barely Finished Guitar) series was designed for players who want tone and attitude without flashy appointments.

The guitar is in excellent condition with no repairs, or issues.  The only change is the strap buttons, changed to straplocks.  The frets show little to no wear.  The truss rod was checked to make sure there is room for future neck relief adjustments.  It set up perfectly for us, and the tone of the humbucker/P-90 combo is outrageously good.

This “Gator” model features a translucent black finish that highlights the rugged wood grain, paired with a matched set of P-90 and BurstBucker 3 pickups for a versatile tonal range—from vintage grit to searing lead tones. The unbound rosewood fingerboard and minimalist controls keep the aesthetic no-nonsense, while the kill switch toggle adds expressive, stuttered tone possibilities on the fly.

Made in the USA, this 2012 model is increasingly collectible among fans of modern Gibson oddities. Whether you're chasing swampy blues, alt-rock crunch, or raw garage tones, this BFG is ready to bite.

There are two shipping cost options for purchases made on our site for these states and those to the east of them: Montana, South Dakota, Nebraska, Kansas, Oklahoma, Texas.  Select Standard shipping at checkout and your item will be shipped via UPS three-day-air.  Select Economy shipping and your item will ship via UPS ground.  For Reverb purchases, there is one cost option for these Eastern states and shipment will be made by UPS three-day-air.  Shipments will require signature on delivery, no exceptions.  If there is damage, the buyer must retain all packing materials intact and picture them immediately and send them to sales@maharsvintageguitars.com.  Less than 1% of our shipments are damaged in transit, and we are committed to making sure your item arrives safely, but we are taking these additional measures to make sure you are happy with your purchase.
