This Gibson ES-345 just barely crossed over into 1970, looking a lot like a 1969 with its iced tea sunburst, small volute, and no "Made in USA" stamp on the back of the headstock.  It also has the chunkier, late 60's neck profile that you'll see on other Gibsons from the period, like the SG.

The guitar has great curb appeal - it is a beauty!  There are a few changes that keep it from being marked in "excellent" condition.  The tuners were changed to Schallers.  To accommodate them, the original tuner holes were widened and the original tuner mounting screw holes filled. Tuner screws are also non-original. The knobs are reproduction "witch hat" knobs, not originals. The selector ring around the Varitone switch is missing.  All other hardware, wiring, and cosmetic elements are original. No neck repairs, no fretboard repairs, no body repairs, and no fret repairs. The frets are in great shape and there is room in the truss rod for future neck relief adjustments. Action measures 2/32" on both the first and sixth strings at the 12th fret with 10-46 strings. The two Patent Sticker humbuckers (neck reading 7.74k, bridge 7.78k) are closely matched and well within the range associated with full, balanced output.

The ES-345 was introduced in 1959 as a step up from the ES-335 and a step below the ES-355, distinguished primarily by the stereo output wiring, the Vari-Tone circuit, split-parallelogram pearl inlays, and gold hardware. A stereo cable is included with the sale. This guitar comes in its original Gibson case, which rates good with a musty smell.
