This 1972 Giannini classical guitar is a beautiful example of Brazil’s rich lutherie tradition, built during an era when Giannini produced some of their finest handcrafted instruments. Featuring solid Brazilian rosewood back and sides paired with a spruce top, this guitar offers warm, balanced tone with deep bass presence and shimmering highs—perfect for classical repertoire, fingerstyle, or traditional Brazilian music.
The comfortable mahogany neck with rosewood fingerboard delivers smooth playability, while the vintage lacquer finish has aged gracefully, adding both character and resonance. This model showcases exceptional wood selection typical of Giannini’s early-1970s production, before Brazilian rosewood became restricted and increasingly scarce.
The top center seam was cracked when we received the guitar, and out luthier expertly and securely repaired it.
Professionally inspected and fully set up here at Mahar’s Vintage Guitars, this instrument is ready for stage, studio, or collection. It comes with its original hard case, making it an even rarer and more desirable package.
