The Fender Vibroverb AA763 is one of the most sought after of the black panel amps.  This is a nice one that has had a little work done, allowing us to price it for mortals.

The amp runs great.  The reverb is deep as it goes. The tone is big and glassy, thanks in part to the original JBL speaker.

It has seen some beneficial service.  The filter caps have been changed and I just put a new, grounded power cord in - bypassing the ground switch and "death cap".  Electrolytics in the circuit were updated before the amp came to us.

Since these pictures were taken, I replaced the first preamp tube with a Tung Sol reissue 12ax7 and the power tubes with a pair of Sovtek 5881s.  The tubes were just a bit worn and not sounding quite right.  It was a nice improvement.

The output transformers in Vibroverbs were under-spec'd from the start, so as you'll see on many of these, the OT is changed.  The replacement is a 1962 Bandmaster output transformer, so it could be worse!  The rest of the transformers are original.

The tube chart was torn years ago, with just a shard remaining.  The upper back panel is a replacement.  The pedal is a recent Fender reproduction.

That is the extent of the changes.

The amp will ship in three boxes and will require reassembly on arrival.  Why you ask?  Based on experience, these amps with larger transformers can take some abuse in shipping, distorting the chassis.  Furthermore, the speaker is large and heavy and could damage the baffle if dropped in transport.  So, three boxes it is.  We can help over the phone with assembly.  It isn't that hard, but don't make the purchase if you aren't down with this - or you can come pick it up in person!
