This 1960 Fender Tweed Bassman 5F6-A is one of the most important guitar amplifiers ever built, representing the final years of Fender’s legendary tweed era. Originally designed for bass but quickly adopted by guitarists, the 5F6-A circuit became the blueprint for countless amplifiers that followed—including the Marshall JTM45.

This amp has been fully serviced and is ready to go.  Other sellers don't go to the same expense we do in order to deliver a vintage amp with beneficial maintenance.  Just the labor spent on the amp would cost $750 or more, which might be what you're up against if you buy a vintage tweed amp that hasn't been fully checked out.

The Bassman outputs about 45 watts via a pair of 6L6 power tubes and a GZ34 rectifier. You get a huge clean tone when you turn it up and your guitar's volume down, with all the rich harmonic complexity you'd expect.  Ramping things up gets you the best tube saturation.  The best.

The four 10" speaker configuration provides focused output with remarkable punch and clarity, while the interactive Presence, Bass, Mid, and Treble controls allow for highly responsive tone shaping.

This example shows legit vintage wear.  Someone enjoyed this amp!  The transformers are all original.  The speakers are all correct Jensen P10Rs.  Two are from 1960, one is from 1956, and the other is from 1957.  The tweed and grille are original, along with the back panels and their associated screws.  The handle is a replacement, the handle mounting brackets and screws are original.

The amp hadn't been used for at least 10 years before it came to me.  The speaker cones were toast, so I had Speaker Repair Pros recone them all.  I performed a full electrolytic cap job, keeping all the old caps and installing the new ones inside the original covers.  A couple of the coupling caps were leaky, so I replaced those with yellow Jupiter caps.  The grid resistors also needed replacement.  I changed the original power cable out for an authentic looking, gray three-prog replacement.  The pots and tube sockets were cleaned, and the tubes replaced.

The amp now runs strong and sounds spectacular.  You're going to love it.

The baffle must have gotten a little wet at some point.  There were a couple of spots where the plywood was delaminating.  I glued up one spot near the bottom left speaker.  The other spot needed some reinforcement - between the right two speakers.  I glued and clamped it for a couple days, then I added a piece of sheet metal that really shored it up.

Of course, the online user reviews for tweed Bassman amps are glowing:
“The greatest guitar amp circuit of all time.” – The Gear Page
“Nothing responds like a real tweed Bassman.” – TDPRI Forum
“Massive tone with incredible touch sensitivity.” – Harmony Central
“A cornerstone of blues and rock history.” – Reddit r/GuitarAmps

Shipping policy:

When you purchase this item you are hereby agreeing to this shipping policy. We remove tubes from amps that could be damaged in shipping.  These cases require the buyer to re-install them on delivery - it is very easy with this amp, and we label them so you know exactly where to put them.  We remove the chassis of amps with heavy transformers and ship them separately as their weight can distort the chassis if the box is dropped in shipping.  These cases require customers to reassemble amps.  It also costs us more.  The shipping cost is higher as a result.  We do this because we have experienced shipping issues in the past, and this is our prevention measure.  Vintage amps are sold as-is because they can need service intermittently.  Everything is tested here in our shop on the way into our inventory, and again before shipping.  We will cover shipping damage, but we cannot be responsible for the failure of vintage components in 20-to-50-plus year old amps. Shipments will require signature on delivery, no exceptions.  If there is damage, the buyer must retain all packing materials intact and picture them immediately and send them to sales@maharsvintageguitars.com.  Less than 1% of our shipments are damaged in transit, and we are committed to making sure your item arrives safely, but we are taking these additional measures to make sure you are happy with your purchase.
