Regarding this Fender release, I was a skeptic until I laid my hands on this guitar.  

It really is a good idea, and handy in so many ways.  It makes a great couch guitar, allowing you to get the feel of both an acoustic and an electric guitar while playing loud enough to hear yourself but not loud enough to bother the family.  

Strung with bronze strings, lighter in gauge than you might an acoustic, it is a good way to keep your fingers in shape for acoustic playing.  Still though, it has that familiar Tele neck feel.

The electronic system is ultra flexible, allowing you to mix between an excellent Fishman acoustic pickup system and a Tele style pickup.  The Fender and Fishman-designed Acoustic Engine powers the Acoustasonic Telecaster and delivers a curated collection of acoustic and electric voices.
