This guitar came into the shop as a very, very dirty version of itself.  It looked like it had dug trenches for a living.  There was dirt and funkiness everywhere.  But, everything on the guitar was original, and I could tell there was a killer guitar lurking.  Well, it was missing the switch tip, but otherwise it is all there.

Anyway, I cleaned it thoroughly, but also made sure I didn't go so far as to wash away all the mojo.

The guitar was played in Southern California for years.  The pickguard wear near the bridge is emblematic of this, as is the deep layer of nicotine.  The guitar does not smell like cigarettes, just so that's clear.

This is a weighty one, but the tone does not suffer.  It sustains forever and has that classic Tele sound.

Everything dates to 1976, the pots being from very early in the year.  Non of the solder joints have been messed with.  There are no repairs or issues and it plays great.

The back of the neck has a couple spots where the finish lifted.  The two by the headstock are pretty smoothed out so they don't really jump out when your playing.  The skunk stripe down the back of the neck has shrunk, likely from humidity issues sometime in the distant past.  This can be felt while playing, depending on how you hold the guitar.  Some folks just can't get along with a guitar that has any finish issues on the back of the neck, which is why I mention it.  To me, it feels like one of those old Gibson guitars with finish that has "alligatored", or something like that.  It doesn't bother me one bit and I find that the curb appeal of the guitar totally makes up for this.

The frets are worn, as you'd expect, but they are quite playable and not in imminent need of replacement.

We paired it with a period correct case when it arrived here.

Instagram posts received a huge response.  You'll similarly love this guitar.
