These older, TV front Princeton's are rare and they sound really cool.  The last one we had was used by Third Eye Blind on nearly every album - it had them captivated and found it to be an indispensable tool in the studio.

This example is in better than average condition considering its age.  The original tweed and grille cloth are intact.  The handle is changed.  The chrome chassis is surprisingly free of rust and pitting, with some of the screened printing showing wear.

The amp was serviced about 4 years ago - the receipt from the tech is included.  The amp sat there at the shop for two years until a proper 1951 speaker showed up on Ebay.  That's some dedication!

The output transformer was changed to a Hammond, a quality replacement.  The filter caps were updated, along with some other internal components.  This is good - the amp runs well now and any further issues caused by drifting caps have been averted.

The Fender Princeton amplifier is a legendary guitar amplifier that has played a significant role in shaping the sound of popular music since its introduction in the 1940s. The history of the Fender Princeton is closely tied to the development of the Fender company itself, as it was one of the earliest models produced by Leo Fender and his team.

The original Fender Princeton was introduced in 1946 as one of the first amplifiers produced by Fender. It was a small, compact combo amplifier designed for use with electric guitars. The initial model, known as the "Princeton Model 6G2," featured a single 10-inch speaker and a 12-watt output, which was considered quite powerful for its time. It utilized a simple yet effective circuit design that provided a clean and responsive tone.

In the following years, Fender made a few changes to the Princeton model. In the late 1950s, the company introduced the "Princeton-Amp" (also known as the "Princeton Tweed"), featuring a distinctive tweed covering and a slightly updated circuitry. This model is highly sought after by vintage gear enthusiasts for its warm and classic tone.
