This 1966 Fender Jaguar in Firemist Gold is sure to wow the offset fans that watch our site for vintage gems.  It is a stunning piece that is a pleasure to have around the shop.

The guitar is 100% original and is in stunning condition.  There are a few areas of wear and some finish discoloration that is typical for Fender's metallic finished of the era, but you can tell in person that the guitar was played very little, and the cleanliness of the frets, fretboard, hardware, etc is remarkable.

The fretboard is a rare rosewood slab, something you don't often see on a '66.

1966 was a year that saw several model changes that make a variant like this Jag pretty rare.  Binding was added to the neck early in the year.  The pearl dot fret markers began to grace fretboards sometime in 1965, changing to block inlays by late 1966.  Lastly, the Jag was the first model to get the late 60s "F Tuners" in place of the longtime staple Kluson Deluxe tuners.  This Jag dodged that change.

The guitar came from the original owner's family.  It includes the original bridge cover and tremolo arm, as well as the original Fender hang tag bearing the same serial number as the guitar.  The case has no logo, which Fender offered only in 1964, but the family said that it was with the guitar for its entire life.  The condition of the case is similar to the guitar.  It isn't the first time I've seen this - Fender sold the cases separately, and dealers would sometimes include cases from stock that didn't exactly match the year of manufacture of a particular guitar.

This is a rare opportunity to own an all-original 60s Fender in an extremely rare custom color.  It surely won't last long!
