The High Power Tweed Twin is a rare beast that absolutely rips!  This is rockstar territory!

Like many examples, this Twin has been recovered and has a new grille.

The amp has been serviced, and someone did a fantastic job.  The electrolytic caps were re-housed in their original sleeves with the ends sealed.  You can tell that the original caps were pushed out of the sleeves, one end of each shows this.

The transformers are original, and aside from beneficial service of caps, the internals of the chassis are original as well.  The cabinet is also original.  The handle is not.

The speakers are Webers - they are not original to the amp.  I do have a pair of 1960 P12Ns that I could add to this package for an extra cost.  Let me know if this is of interest.

We'll be making a video of this one for sure, if it lasts long enough.  The last two tweed Twin amps moved really quick!

We will ship the chassis separate from the cab, so please don't order if you're not comfortable with mounting the chassis in the cab on arrival.

Plugging into a real 5F8 is an experience every serious guitarist remembers—it fills the room with tone, dimension, and history in a way no modern recreation can replicate.

As with all amplifiers at Mahar’s Vintage Guitars, it has been fully inspected, photographed accurately, and evaluated for performance and authenticity.

We buy, sell, and take trades.

Shipping policy:

When you purchase this item you are hereby agreeing to this shipping policy. We remove tubes from amps that could be damaged in shipping.  These cases require the buyer to re-install them on delivery - it is very easy with this amp, and we label them so you know exactly where to put them.  We remove the chassis of amps with heavy transformers and ship them separately as their weight can distort the chassis if the box is dropped in shipping.  We remove heavy speakers from amps as they can crack baffles, especially amps with particle board chassis.  These cases require customers to reassemble amps.  It also costs us more.  The shipping cost is higher as a result.  We do this because we have experienced shipping issues in the past, and this is our prevention measure.  Vintage amps are sold as-is because they can need service intermittently.  Everything is tested here in our shop on the way into our inventory, and again before shipping.  We will cover shipping damage, but we cannot be responsible for the failure of vintage components in 20-to-50-plus year old amps. Shipments will require signature on delivery, no exceptions.  If there is damage, the buyer must retain all packing materials intact and picture them immediately and send them to sales@maharsvintageguitars.com.  Less than 1% of our shipments are damaged in transit, and we are committed to making sure your item arrives safely, but we are taking these additional measures to make sure you are happy with your purchase.
