The American Performer Stratocaster is Fender's USA-made entry point. built in Corona, California with the same core construction as the American Professional and American Ultra lines but priced for players who want domestic manufacture without the full Custom Shop premium.

The HSS configuration adds a humbucker at the bridge for players who want the hum-cancelling output and warmth of a humbucker in the bridge position without giving up the Strat single-coil character in the middle and neck positions. Black over a maple neck and fingerboard is one of the sharpest visual combinations in the Strat catalog — clean, high-contrast, and timeless.

The bridge humbucker reads 8.20k — in the warm, balanced range for a Fender-voiced humbucker, not overwound, with the articulate character that distinguishes American-made Fender pickups from hotter aftermarket alternatives. The neck single-coil reads 5.69k, correct and typical for a modern Fender production single-coil. The Yosemite middle pickup is Fender's Custom Shop-designed RWRP unit, providing hum-cancelling in positions 2 and 4.

The guitar set up easily and there is room in the truss rod for future neck relief adjustments.  Alder body, modern C maple neck at .863" at the first fret and .906" at the twelfth, 9.5" radius maple fingerboard with black dot inlays, 22 frets, 6-saddle vintage-style synchronized tremolo. Action set at 2/32" on both strings at the twelfth fret. 

Excellent condition, like new. Original molded hardshell case included.

There are multiple shipping cost options for purchases made on our site.  Select Ground, 3 Day, 2 Day, or Next Day Air Saver.  For Reverb purchases, there is one cost option for Eastern states - customers from any state that is more than a 3 day UPS ground shipment from our shop will get their shipment via UPS 3 day air.  Otherwise, ground shipping will be used.  Shipments will require signature on delivery, no exceptions.  If there is damage, the buyer must retain all packing materials intact and picture them immediately and send them to sales@maharsvintageguitars.com.  Less than 1% of our shipments are damaged in transit, and we are committed to making sure your item arrives safely, but we are taking these additional measures to make sure you are happy with your purchase.
