This Fender 1969 Twin Reverb in black is in excellent condition. The amp hadn't been used in years prior to its arrival here, so we took it slow and dialed it in to get it running perfectly and sounding its best. The amp puts out about 85 watts of full, clean tone with loads of headroom.
What sets this particular Twin apart is the pair of JBL D120F 12" speakers, both date-coded to the 16th week of 1969 (F0151669), making them original to the amp. The JBL-branded variant of the late-'60s Twin was a factory upgrade option that you don't often come across. All four transformers — power, output, choke, and reverb — are Schumacher units with 1969 date codes, and the serial number and tube chart codes confirm the 1969 build date. The cabinet is pine, the grille is silver sparkle, and the covering is original black tolex throughout.
On the non-original side: the power cable has been replaced with a new grounded three-prong unit. The amp has also received a full cap job. Fender installed an early version of their limiter in the power section of this amp - an unnecessary and cumbersome part of the circuit that does nothing for the tone of the amp. My longtime tech, Pat, helped remove this properly and also take a step to make the amp more like its blackpanel predecessor. The hum balance pot was changed to work as the mid-60s amps, an actual bias control for the whole power section and not a balance between pairs of power tubes. Everything else is original: cabinet, baffle, chassis, knobs, handle, all four transformers, reverb tank, pots, and both speakers with their original cones. The amp comes with its original vibrato footpedal in excellent condition.

Shipping Policy
By completing your purchase you are agreeing to this shipping policy. Shipments require signature on delivery, no exceptions. Less than 1% of our shipments are damaged in transit, and we are committed to making sure your item arrives safely. If there is damage, retain all packing materials intact, photograph them immediately, and send the photos to sales@maharsvintageguitars.com.
Amplifiers: We take additional precautions to prevent common shipping damage. Depending on the amp, this may include removing tubes, pulling the chassis from the cabinet if heavy transformers present a drop risk, or removing heavy speakers that could crack baffles in transit. Reassembly is required on delivery — we label everything clearly. These measures add to shipping costs but reflect hard-won experience. Vintage amplifiers (20 years or older) are sold as-is — all amps are tested in our shop upon intake and again before shipping. We cover shipping damage but cannot be responsible for the failure of vintage components in instruments that are 20 to 50-plus years old.
