This 2013 DAM Super Bee SB-67 is an extraordinarily rare early prototype—Serial Number 000—representing the very first iteration of David Main’s now-beloved Super Bee fuzz circuit. Hand-built in the UK with the meticulous attention to detail that defines DAM, this prototype predates the production versions and includes unique component choices, early-value tuning, and circuit layout decisions that showcase the design’s evolution.

The SB-67 delivers an aggressive yet articulate silicon fuzz voice with fast attack, buzzing upper-mid cut, and rich sustain. Unlike many high-gain fuzzes, it keeps excellent definition and cleans up beautifully with the guitar’s volume knob.  This really is what you can expect.  We were blown away by how good this thing sounds!

Prototype units like this often feature subtle differences in gain texture, clipping behavior, and dynamic response—making this a true collector’s piece for DAM devotees. This example comes with the original DAM bag and stickers.

Players consistently praise the Super Bee line: “One of the most musical silicon fuzzes ever built” (The Gear Page), “Cuts like a horn section but stays thick” (Reddit r/Guitar), “DAM always nails the vintage-meets-modern feel” (Harmony Central), “Responds incredibly to pick attack” (Ultimate Guitar), and “Prototype versions have that extra magic” (MyLesPaul Forum).
