This 1992 Brian Goodwin Custom Stratocaster Build in Red is in excellent condition. It comes with the original G&G case.

Brian Goodwin is an artist and a guitar builder - a friend of the shop from Northern California.  Brian hasn't been a prolific builder, but you might have caught this one when it was for sale at Carter Vintage for $3000, a testament to the impeccable quality of the build.  Brian hand built this guitar around a chambered alder body with a flamed maple cap. The result in a Stratocaster-style instrument tends toward a clear, articulate midrange with the warmth alder provides in the low-mids, while the maple cap contributes some added definition and harmonic focus up top. At 7 lbs., this guitar is wonderfully comfortable to play. The fixed hardtail bridge keeps the instrument stable in tune and transfers string energy directly into the body with no tremolo system in the signal path.

The neck is figured maple with a C profile and abalone dot inlays. Nut width is 1-5/8", scale length is 25.5", and the fretboard radius is 9.5" — a modern Fender-standard radius that accommodates both rhythm work and lead playing without the vintage 7.25" stiffness. The guitar is all original.  The nut is bone. Three Fender Custom Shop single-coil Stratocaster pickups are installed, all original: the neck reads 6.06k, the middle 6.41k, and the bridge 7.44k — the bridge wound slightly hotter to compensate for its position. The thin nitro finish is original.

The truss rod is a bit countersunk but has room for future adjustment. Frets are in excellent condition. We set the guitar up here in the shop with the action at 2/32" on the 1st string and 2/32" on the 6th string at the 12th fret. The string trees are included but not installed — the builder chose not to put holes in the headstock. They're included so you can add them if you like.  The G&G case is in very good condition with no odor.
