This 1967 Fender Telecaster in classic Blonde is a beautifully balanced example of late-’60s Fender craftsmanship, offering the perfect mix of vintage feel and tone. If you look around, you'll see that there are far more maple-board Teles from this era than there are examples with rosewood fretboards, making this an even more desirable guitar.

The ash body delivers the signature Tele snap and clarity, while the rosewood fretboard rounds out the high end, creating a richer, more balanced response that works beautifully for country, rock, blues, and soul. The pickups in Teles from this era are known for their open, full range tone.  The pickups aren't wax potted like those from earlier periods, lending to the sound that defines this Tele era.

Cosmetically, this example presents in excellent vintage condition with honest wear consistent with age.  It has "the look"!  It includes its original case, a major bonus for collectors. It resonates acoustically, plays effortlessly, and carries the unmistakable feel that only a great vintage Fender can deliver.

The frets and fretboard show very light use considering the age of the guitar.  It plays perfectly, with a straight neck and a truss rod with room for future neck relief adjustments.  The finish is original throughout.

The only non-original parts are the tone pot (an old Clarostat), the tone capacitor, and the output jack.  The wiring has been messed with - there are new wires to the output jack, between the pots and the switch, and between the pots and the output jack.  The original pickup wires appear to have been cut a bit short at some point, and they were amended with splices to allow them to reach the controls.  The guitar must have had some different, larger pots installed at some point.  There is a very slight route in the sides of the control cavity where the pots are.  No other mods have been made to the body.  The rest of the parts are original.

The case is original.

As with all instruments at Mahar’s Vintage Guitars, it has been fully inspected, photographed accurately, and professionally set up to play its absolute best.
