The Gibson True Vintage J-185 Vintage Sunburst (2014) is one of Gibson’s most beloved acoustic models, celebrated for its balanced tone, iconic look, and superior craftsmanship.

This 2014 True Vintage reissue brings those classic features into the modern era with incredible accuracy.

It features a solid Adirondack spruce top paired with nicely flamed maple back and sides, delivering shimmering highs, tight lows, and a beautifully balanced midrange. The short scale (24.75") neck enhances playability, while the X-bracing ensures rich projection and sustain. The Vintage Sunburst finish, classic maltese cross inlays, and decorative parallelogram bridge highlight Gibson’s timeless aesthetic.

There is a factory LR Baggs Element system installed.  The neck is straight and there is room in the truss rod for future neck relief adjustments.  The action is perfect with plenty of saddle height.

This example has seen some use and shows some wear, but it is repair and issue free.  The frets do show light wear but are not in need of work.   Originally introduced in the 1950s as a smaller sibling to the J-200, the J-185 quickly became a favorite among singer-songwriters for its warm resonance and striking design.
