Here we have a cool looking 1987 Les Paul Standard that must have passed through the hands of a Slash fan at some point.  It bears the changes that such a fan would make to match Slash's now legendary Les Paul that he carried around in the early Guns N Roses days.

You'll have to forgive me, because at the time that Slash and Guns N Roses was gaining momentum I was probably following the Grateful Dead around in my Volkswagen, completely oblivious to the very different spectacle that is GNR.  So, I'm going from article to article to confirm what I can about this Slash/1987 Les Paul deal.

There is a lot of debate over what Slash used in early recordings, but it is very well documented that he owned and played a 1987 Standard just like this one, outfitted with Duncan Alnico humbuckers and black 'top hat" knobs.  Google the subject - it is pretty interesting!

Anyhow, this is a great playing and sounding guitar that sets up well.  The truss rod is fully functional.  The frets have been replaced and are in excellent condition.  The pots appear to be changed, as does the output jack plate.  The truss rod cover is cracked but holds on well.  The headstock shows checking while the rest of the guitar does not.  The bridges and tuners appear to be original.  The original "chainsaw" case is included.
