This 1966 Fender Vibrolux Reverb is a classic blackface-era 2x10 combo that delivers the unmistakable sparkle, punch, and responsiveness that made mid-’60s Fender amplifiers legendary. Positioned perfectly between the Deluxe Reverb and the larger Super Reverb, the Vibrolux offers excellent headroom and projection while remaining more portable and manageable for club stages and studio work.  It is also lighter and more portable.

Tonally, the Vibrolux Reverb produces tight, articulate low end, rich midrange detail, and shimmering highs that remain smooth even as the amp is pushed. The dual 10-inch speakers give the amp exceptional punch and clarity, allowing it to cut through a band mix while maintaining the wide, open sound Fender amps are known for. Clean tones are glassy and dynamic, while turning the amp up brings out warm, harmonically rich breakup that responds beautifully to pick attack and guitar volume changes. The onboard tube-driven reverb is lush and immersive, and the classic Fender optical tremolo adds smooth, pulsating modulation that has appeared on countless recordings.

This example is in near-mint condition.  You just don't see them this clean!

The original Jensen speakers in this one are a real treat!

The amp has been fully checked on our bench.  We tighten all the pots and jacks to make sure they are all grounded - something I am certain that 99% of sellers don't think to check.  We clean the pots, tube sockets, and jacks.  These simple steps insure that you won't have to bring the amp to your tech for a small, inconsequential "issue" caused by something that can be easily prevented with a little non-technical, but necessary, maintenance.

We test all the tubes.  This one has a host of vintage preamp tubes, and a set modern tubes in the power section - all are good to go.

The filter caps were updated with F&T caps, housed in the original cardboard sleeves.  Note that I don't put foam in the sleeves like some techs do as a vanity step.  Foam inside your amp is just a bad idea.  It'll break down and turn to goo or dust.  Nobody wants that in their amp, and you know you're not going to want to clean it up when it happens!  I make sure that the caps are installed so they are tight and stable, just like the originals were.

Cathode bias caps were changed out using the same procedure.  The bias cap was also updated.  A grounded power cable was installed.  All the original parts that were in the amp when it arrived here are included.

I had to add a repro footswitch - the amp came in without one and I've exhausted my stash.

The amp functions flawlessly.

As with all amplifiers at Mahar’s Vintage Guitars, it has been fully inspected, photographed accurately, and professionally evaluated to ensure dependable performance.

We buy, sell, and take trades.

Shipping policy:

When you purchase this item you are hereby agreeing to this shipping policy. We remove tubes from amps that could be damaged in shipping.  These cases require the buyer to re-install them on delivery - it is very easy with this amp, and we label them so you know exactly where to put them.  We do this because we have experienced shipping issues in the past, and this is our prevention measure.  Vintage amps are sold as-is because they can need service intermittently.  Everything is tested here in our shop on the way into our inventory, and again before shipping.  We will cover shipping damage, but we cannot be responsible for the failure of vintage components in 20-to-50-plus year old amps. Shipments will require signature on delivery, no exceptions.  If there is damage, the buyer must retain all packing materials intact and picture them immediately and send them to sales@maharsvintageguitars.com.  Less than 1% of our shipments are damaged in transit, and we are committed to making sure your item arrives safely, but we are taking these additional measures to make sure you are happy with your purchase.
