We've done it again - we've found another 100% original, pristine Fender tweed amp.
Simple, pure, and incredibly responsive, the 5F1 circuit represents the essence of vintage Fender tone—single-ended Class A sweetness, touch sensitivity, and harmonically rich breakup that feels alive. Fully original examples from 1960 are increasingly difficult to find, making this one especially appealing to collectors and tone purists alike.
While I don't recommend heavy use of an original amp from 1960, it is something to see and celebrate, so I have left this working amp as it sits. If the next buyer would like, I will swap out the power cable and perform a cap job. When I work on any amp like this, I tread lightly and change only what is necessary to get the amp working to spec. I hide new caps in their old cardboard sleeves and use a gray, grounded power cable so everything looks authentic, and I retain all the old parts.
Cosmetically, the amp is in excellent shape. It’s a rare opportunity to own a true piece of Fender’s golden tweed era.
As with all amplifiers at Mahar’s Vintage Guitars, it has been fully inspected, photographed accurately, and professionally evaluated to ensure dependable performance.
We buy, sell, and take trades.

Shipping policy:
When you purchase this item you are hereby agreeing to this shipping policy. We remove tubes from amps that could be damaged in shipping. These cases require the buyer to re-install them on delivery - it is very easy with this amp, and we label them so you know exactly where to put them. We do this because we have experienced shipping issues in the past, and this is our prevention measure. Vintage amps are sold as-is because they can need service intermittently. Everything is tested here in our shop on the way into our inventory, and again before shipping. We will cover shipping damage, but we cannot be responsible for the failure of vintage components in 20-to-50-plus year old amps. Shipments will require signature on delivery, no exceptions. If there is damage, the buyer must retain all packing materials intact and picture them immediately and send them to sales@maharsvintageguitars.com. Less than 1% of our shipments are damaged in transit, and we are committed to making sure your item arrives safely, but we are taking these additional measures to make sure you are happy with your purchase.
