The Pro Reverb is unjustly underappreciated. The amps put out somewhere around 35 to maybe 40 watts, putting them in a sweet spot where you can get huge, full clean tones but you can still push it into tube overdrive. A clean boost pedals pairs extremely well. The amp gives you response you can feel.
The amp came in with most of the electrolytic caps changed. The work had been done by a couple of techs, from the look of things. I swapped out the last original filter cap and replaced one of the bypass caps that had received a really large cap that looked very out of place. The bias cap was changed out was well. A grounded power cable has been added. The wires sending signal to and from the reverb tank are authentic looking replacements. We tested all the tubes, cleaned the tube sockets, pots & jacks, and fully vetted the amp when all the updates were complete.
We listed this amp a little while back and just brought it back to the website. The rectifier tube took a dive and a couple of the original resistors needed to be swapped out, so it had to hit the bench again. The amp runs like a top!
The transformers are original. The speakers are Fender labeled Oxfords from the late 70s. The footswitch is original. Removable casters were added.
Cosmetically, the amp is in great shape with original tolex and grille material intact.
The Pro Reverb sits between the Super Reverb and the Twin in Fender's 1965 blackface lineup — two 12s instead of four 10s or two 12s at higher headroom — and it occupies a sweet spot that many players prefer. Pre-CBS designation means this amp was built before CBS's January 1965 acquisition closed, or in the very early transitional period; the internal date codes confirm 1965 manufacture. All four Schumacher transformers — power, choke, output, and reverb — carry original date codes and are confirmed original.
The speakers are Jensen 12-inch drivers with manufacturer code 465 and date code 714, decoding to the 14th week of 1977 — these are not the original speakers, but they are period-correct Jensens in excellent condition with the original cones intact (cone code P-3869-7). The footswitch is not original and dates to the 1970s; condition is very good. Casters have been added to the bottom of the cabinet with screws visible on the underside — this is the only modification to the cabinet. No cover or documentation is included.

Shipping Policy
By completing your purchase you are agreeing to this shipping policy. Shipments require signature on delivery, no exceptions. Less than 1% of our shipments are damaged in transit, and we are committed to making sure your item arrives safely. If there is damage, retain all packing materials intact, photograph them immediately, and send the photos to sales@maharsvintageguitars.com.
Amplifiers: We take additional precautions to prevent common shipping damage. Depending on the amp, this may include removing tubes, pulling the chassis from the cabinet if heavy transformers present a drop risk, or removing heavy speakers that could crack baffles in transit. Reassembly is required on delivery — we label everything clearly. These measures add to shipping costs but reflect hard-won experience. Vintage amplifiers (20 years or older) are sold as-is — all amps are tested in our shop upon intake and again before shipping. We cover shipping damage but cannot be responsible for the failure of vintage components in instruments that are 20 to 50-plus years old.
