Fender Stratocaster 1965 Vintage Player’s Guitar – Mid-60s Strat Tone and Feel at a better price

This 1965 Fender Stratocaster has some changes, most of which don't immediately jump out at you.  The only changes that do are pretty superficial.

This is a great player with that mid-60s Strat tone.  It is a transitional model, with the transition "macaroni" Fender logo and pearl neck dots.  The weight is just about right as well at 7 pounds, 11 ounces.  This one is ready to shamelessly hit some stages with the vintage tone you want.  

The original things on the guitar are as follows, some with further explanation below: Original pickups, original finish, original bridge, original knobs, original tuners, 1965 dated neck, original body, original neck plate and screws, original jack cup.

If you look closely at the headstock you'll see four filled holes on the face where a previous owner must have installed some sort of string trees.  The holes were filled long before we purchased the guitar.  

The other visible change is the addition of one hole to the original pickguard.  There is no corresponding hole in the body however.

Under the hood is where the changes lie.  The pots and switch are changed, though the wiring was retained.  The neck pickup has had its wires spliced.  The body has been routed to accept a humbucker in the bridge position.  Additionally, a route was run to the treble side horn to accommodate a switch.  All of the wiring work that is present was done before the guitar made its way here.

Other things to note:  The guitar has been professionally refretted.  The trem arm is a short reproduction part, the back plate is missing.  The case is a generic, recent hardshell.
