This 1991–1992 Fender ST-62 ’62 Reissue Stratocaster is an early Made in Japan example from the highly respected FujiGen era, finished in classic Black with a rosewood fretboard. These vintage reissues are known for their exceptional build quality, vintage-accurate feel, and consistently great tone—qualities that have made them favorites among players, collectors, and studio musicians for decades.
With its alder body, slim ’60s-style C neck profile, and 7.25" radius rosewood fingerboard, this ST-62 captures the feel of a true early-1960s Strat. The vintage-voiced pickups deliver chimey highs, warm mids, and dynamic response—ideal for everything from blues and surf to indie rock and classic Strat-driven tones. The Kluson-style tuners, mint-green guard, and period-correct hardware complete the vintage aesthetic.
The guitar is all original with no changes, repairs, or issues and it set up really well with room in the truss rod for future neck relief adjustments. This one is pretty light weight as well at 7 pounds, 12 ounces. The frets are in excellent shape - the whole guitar is really. It has been hiding in a collection for at least the last 15 years, unplayed throughout that time or more.
Fender gig bag included.
Players consistently praise early CIJ Fenders: “FujiGen-era builds are ridiculously good” (The Gear Page), “Neck feel is spot-on ’60s vintage” (TDPRI), “Pickups are glassy and musical” (Reddit r/Guitar), “Top-tier craftsmanship across the board” (Harmony Central), and “The best value in vintage-style Strats” (Ultimate Guitar).
’62-style Strats have been used by legends like Stevie Ray Vaughan, Mark Knopfler, and John Frusciante—known for their warm yet articulate rosewood-board tone.
