Fender's Made in Japan Traditional series is widely regarded as some of the best production Fender work available at any price — the fit, finish, and component quality consistently exceed what the US market receives at comparable cost, and the FSR models produced for individual Japanese dealers in small quantities are a specific category within that already elevated standard. This is a 2024 Traditional II 60s Jaguar in Sonic Blue with a matching headstock.

The lead circuit handles standard pickup selection through a 3-way toggle — neck, both, bridge — while the rhythm circuit offers a separate pre-set dark tone with its own volume control, effectively giving the player a second independent voice accessible mid-performance with a single switch flip. The two on/off pickup slide switches let you take either pickup in and out of the lead circuit independently, and the strangle switch engages a high-pass filter that cuts the low end for a thin, cutting surf tone. No other production guitar from any manufacturer has offered this range of on-board tonal switching.

The alder body is the correct specification for the Sonic Blue custom color finish — alder was the standard Jaguar body wood throughout the 1960s — with a bound rosewood fingerboard on a maple U-profile neck at .858" at the first fret and .901" at the twelfth. The 24" short scale is the defining physical characteristic of the Jaguar platform, reducing string tension noticeably compared to a 25.5" Strat and contributing directly to the floating, elastic feel that Jaguar players either love immediately or take time to adjust to. The matching Sonic Blue headstock is the FSR-specific appointment that makes this guitar visually distinctive even among Traditional II examples. Action is set at 2/32" on both strings at the twelfth fret. At 7 lbs 13.5 oz this is well-balanced for extended playing. The original hardshell case is included — most FSR Traditional II models ship with a gig bag only, making the OHSC a genuine bonus.

Overall, the guitar is in excellent to near mint condition with light signs of use.  The frets show very light wear.  The guitar cooperated nicely during setup - it was a breeze to get it playing perfectly.  The original case is included.

FSR runs in colors like Sonic Blue with matching headstocks don't get reissued — when they're gone, they're gone. If you've been looking for a production Jaguar that genuinely delivers on the short-scale, complex-circuit promise of the original without any compromises, this is it. Serious players and collectors should move on this one.
