This 1988 Gibson Les Paul Custom was traded in during a recent guitar show by the original owner.  He took really great care of this beauty.  There is little wear to show, just a couple dings on the back of the neck that you'll see in the pics.

The original owner's manual and warranty card are included!

This is a maple-topped Custom, as you can see in the control cavity.

Very light wear shows on the frets.  The neck is perfect with no issues, and the truss rod was checked to make sure there is room for future neck relief adjustments.  The guitar set up perfectly with a new set of 10-46 strings.

There are no changes, repairs, or issues with the guitar whatsoever.  The original "chainsaw" case is in excellent condition as well.

Original Bill Lawrence designed "The Original" HB pickups are in place.  These are underrated pickups that have great tone.

Here's some info on the pickups:

Willi Lorenz Stich (Bill Lawrence) was an interesting figure. He designed pickups and assisted in guitar design for Gibson, Peavey, Fender, and other manufacturers. From 1968 to 1972, Lawrence collaborated with Gibson to design the "super-humbucker" pickup and the L6-S (the often disrespected, all-too-frequently maligned, relatively misunderstood - or worse, unknown to the younger players - tone factory. I really love the sounds these things crank out and am altogether happy to hear them played but i do find them rather cumbersome and uncomfortable to play).

Lawrence had left Gibson's employ but returned in the late 1980s whereupon
Lawrence also helped to redesign the electronics of the SG and contributed greatly to the S-1, Marauder, as well as Gibson's bass models like the Ripper, Grabber, and G3.

The Bill Lawrence designed Gibson HB-R (neck position) and the HB-L (bridge position) - "The Original" Circuit-Board Humbuckers -were the result of a fairly fruitful collaboration between Bill Lawrence and Gibson when he re-joined the Gibson team in the late eighties.

The Original Circuitboard Pickups are thought by many to combine the low-end aggressiveness of a Bill Lawrence 500-L with the precision of a Gibson Classic '57 Humbucker. These pickups are now relatively unknown by younger musicians and completely dismissed by others (some of whom diss the HBs yet endorse certain boutique pickups with VERY similar specs .. 'Magine my surprise?)

The Gibson HB-R/HB-L Humbuckers are of a "High Fidelity" Nature very much like Ultrasonic Humbuckers*(also Bill Lawrence Designed) in that they both had Circuit Board Backs, Low String Pull/No Feedback so you can put them as close to the strings as you want w/o issues.
