Some Fenders have a distinct tone and feel before you even plug them in. This beautiful 1996 Candy Apple Red Jazzmaster JM66 reissue is exactly as expected, with a bendy elasticity, twangy and woody tone and plenty of sustain.
The Mastery bridge/Tremolo retrofit helps with tuning stability, because the strings stay put – even when they’re thrashed – and tuning remains stable even with heavy tremolo use. The upgraded Lollar Jazzmaster pickups sound like a vintage Jazzmaster should. Original parts are not included.
The vintage style frets have tons of life left on them. The Candy Apple Red paint has to be one of Fenders deepest richest looking finishes, and the matching colored headstock is the icing on the cake, err...guitar. Showing only minimal nicks and dings with no buckle rash, this Jazzmaster was clearly very well taken care of, please see pictures.
The original switch on the rhythm circuit is a touch intermittent. We cleaned it out and exercised it, which helped a lot. It might just need to be used more...
