I figured this guitar would be a heavy beast when I first laid eyes on that solid, maple burl body based on my experience in the past with Boogie Bodies guitars.  I was really pleased to find that is is a touch under 7 pounds, a mark that players really dig.

The history of Boogie Bodies guitars is a colorful one, from the 70s up to recent times.  The entire history is fragmented and not excellently documented.  There is some info out there on the webz, which I won't get too far into here - that is what Google is for.

Several hands were involved with Boogie Bodies, including Wayne Charvel, Warmoth guitar products and Lynn Ellsworth.  The guitars went in and out of production over the years.

This example appears to have been built in or after 2013, based on the headstock shape.  The stamped number on the neck heel appeared to be an older feature to me, but the headstock shape seems to trump that.  Also, the Wilkinson bridge is original to the guitar, and it is definitely not a 70's part.

Premium woods are used throughout.  The maple burl body is beautiful, as are th birdseye neck and dark ebony fretboard.

The neck is straight and the truss rod effective, but a decent size neck shim was needed to get the playability where it should be.  It doesn't seem to affect the tone negatively - the guitar sounds great and really drives an amp, thanks to the hot Ibanez pickups.

Overall, a really nice piece that is comfortable to play, and a unique look that'll turn heads.

Danelectro gig bag included.
