This 1962 Gibson EB-3 bass is in pretty darn good shape for its age.  Most I see are pretty beat up with changed parts, etc.

Two cosmetic issues do apply, however.  The "tug bar", normally located on the pickguard, has been moved to the bass side of the strings.  Whomever did this must have measured once and drilled thrice - it has been in three locations there, resulting in six screw holes - two of which are currently used for what is now a thumb rest.

The other cosmetic issue is on the bass horn edge.  A bolt holding the handle on the case has rubbed a channel there over the years.

Otherwise, the bass is all original and plays well.  The truss rod was checked to make sure there is room for future neck relief adjustments.  There are no headstock, heel or control cavity cracks - issues you'll often see on these basses.

The pots date to the 15th week of 1962.  No solder joints are changed in the control cavity.

The case is correct for an EB-3 but appears to be a late 60s Gibson case.
