This Tweed Bassman clone is a killer!  The label in the cabinet says it was built by Oakland Electric Audio Repair.  I called the phone number listed to see if someone could tell me about the amp.  I left a voice mail and got no reply.

The power transformer is a Mojo unit and the output transformer is a Fender that might be by the year 2000.  The choke might be from the mid 70s.  

The speakers are blue, alnico 10s that have become a favorite of players - the same speakers used in a 90s Fender Bassman reissue.  In fact, the cabinet is likely a Fender 90s cab as well - you can see the holes from screws that likely held the Fender plate on the top back panel.

The cabinet has been lacquered and aged.  Someone did a nice job on it.

The handwired circuit utilized the best components, which is reflected in the killer tone.  

The Normal inputs are not functional, and there is a pot installed in the Bright input #2.  It appears that this knob adds in varying levels of the Normal channel's portion of the circuit, as if the channels were jumped with a volume pedal in between.  I might be wrong, but that's my take.  The amp rips with this knob on "0", turning it up just adds more overdrive and punch.

The amp runs really strong and quiet.  This is a killer piece.

When you purchase this item you are hereby agreeing to this shipping policy. We remove tubes from amps that could be damaged in shipping.  We remove the chassis from some amps so that the large transformers don't damage a chassis or cabinet.  These cases result in multiple box shipments, and they require the buyer to do some assembly on delivery.  We do this because we have experienced shipping issues in the past, and this is our prevention measure.  Vintage amps are sold as-is because they can need service intermittently.  Everything is tested here in our shop on the way into our inventory, and again before shipping.  We will cover shipping damage, but we cannot be responsible for the failure of vintage components in 20-to-50-plus year old amps. Shipments will require signature on delivery, no exceptions.  If there is damage, the buyer must retain all packing materials intact and picture them immediately and send them to sales@maharsvintageguitars.com.  Less than 1% of our shipments are damaged in transit, and we are committed to making sure your item arrives safely, but we are taking these additional measures to make sure you are happy with your purchase.
