Tube PA amps like this 1950s Newcomb H-50 have drawn a lot of attention amongst tone freaks, and for very good reason. The tone you get from them is distinct. They go from warm and rich when clean to full output overdrive. It is kind of amazing that they ever really worked that well as PA amps.
We listed another Newcomb just before this one. That one has EL84 output tubes and gets a gnarly, 18-watt Marshall type tone. This one runs on 6L6s and is a little thicker and has more overall push.
There is one 1/4" input that is split to allow Input 1, 2, and 3 controls to drive it through the preamp section. This is where you can really tweak the drive of the amp. Independent bass and treble controls are really nice to have.
1/4" jacks have been added to allow for 4 or 8 ohm guitar cabs.
The unit works really well, running strong. The power cable was updated recently. It looks like the rest of the circuit is original. It was used regularly for several years by the previous owner. Keeping it in the regular rotation will help keep the old caps going. That said, there is no warranty here as obviously the parts are old and original That said, it is 100% killer sounding and totally good to go.
