Yep, here is a real collector piece. We see these so rarely, and they're always a mess when we do, but this one is all good!
Maintenance has been performed on the amp. You can see that some caps have been updated, something that is inevitable and often important to tackle for the health of the amp. This amp, as is the case with some other amps from the collection we are listing lately, passed through the shop of Don Butler for a full checkup on its way to the previous owner.
Loaded with real, Made in Great Britain Mullard EL34s!
There simply is no substitute for an original Plexi! I don't think I really need to get into a bunch of superlatives here. I trust that anyone looking at this amp likely knows exactly what to expect and can get what they need from the pics. That said, feel free to call or email if there is anything else we can tell you about it.
I have a couple early 70's 4x12 cabs as well. I'm going to list them soon, but I'm still working on shipping methods for those so if you're interested and you're hip to the best way to ship a vintage Marshall 4x12.
I will ship this amp in two boxes and insure them both to full value. These chassis take it hard in shipping due to the weight of the transformers. Sever torque can be applied to the transformers and the ears of the chassis when they're hanging in the cab if the shipping carton is handled roughly. Separating them eases this issue. Shipping will be expensive.
