Fender Tremolux Tone Ring Cabinet 1x10" White Tolex 1961

This rare 1961 Fender Tremolux Tone Ring 1x10" cabinet in original White Tolex is one of the coolest and most collectible early-'60s Fender speaker designs ever produced. There weren't all that many made, as Fender moved on to the simpler-to-build, direct radiating cab design pretty quickly.  Few of these tone-ring cabs survive today, and even fewer in clean, original condition.

Paired originally with the 6G9 Tremolux head, the tone-ring system uses a floating baffle with a circular mounting ring, adding porting to the cabinet for bigger, richer tone that feels very different from standard open-back cabs of the era.

The Blonde/White Tolex and oxblood grille cloth remain impressively intact for its age, showing only light wear and presenting beautifully. The tone ring, baffle, and internal structure are all original. Some of the original fiberglass insulation is missing inside the cabinet, otherwise it is free of modification. 

The speaker is a Jensen C10Q from 1963.  The cab came to us with the wrong speaker in it, so I added the Jensen as it is more appropriate for the cab.  The speaker was reconed by Speaker Repair Pros in Orange County, CA before I put it in my backup stash.  It has been used once after the recone, when we tested this cab for the first time.
