I purchased this amp along with a full set of early 60's, white tolex Fenders from a fellow dealer who has mostly retired and showed up at a recent guitar show with an incredible amp stash.  In the group is a tone ring Tremolux, a tone ring Bandmaster, and a tone ring Bassman - oh, and a white Twin!  They all are in amazing shape and have the original covers.  Check them out here on our site while the last!  These amps have been hiding for decades and have never hit the market.

It is by far the cleanest example I've ever seen, and the original covers are included.  The speaker cable, tolex, grille, handle, and all the hardware are original.

This 1960 Fender Showman head and 1x12 tone ring cabinet in Blonde is an extraordinary, near mint example of Leo Fender’s first truly professional amplifier design. Introduced at the dawn of the 1960s, the Showman represented Fender’s bold step into high-powered clean tone—built to project across large venues with unmatched clarity and headroom.

This is the earliest Showman variant with the 6G14 circuit and a rare 16 ohm output transformer (part number 45946).

This early “blonde era” pairing is the exact configuration used by surf legends like Dick Dale, and it remains one of the most historically significant amplifier setups Fender ever produced.  This version is pretty rare, especially with original transformers and you just never see them in this condition.

Powered by a pair of 6L6 tubes, the Showman delivers roughly 80 watts of articulate, glassy tone through its original 1x12 tone ring cabinet—featuring the pioneering resonant baffle system that adds depth, projection, and low-end authority. The blonde tolex, oxblood grille, and chrome hardware are in remarkable shape for over six decades of age.

The vibrato is out of this world, and the amp is simply thunderous!

I serviced the amp, along with some help from my mentor and friend who is helping me build my amp repair and restoration chops.  New filter caps, bias cap, bias diodes, grid resistors, bypass caps, and a couple coupling caps were added, along with a grounded power cable.

At Mahar’s Vintage Guitars, all amplifiers are tested, photographed accurately, and professionally evaluated.

Shipping policy:

When you purchase this item you are hereby agreeing to this shipping policy. We remove tubes from amps that could be damaged in shipping.  These cases require the buyer to re-install them on delivery - it is very easy with this amp, and we label them so you know exactly where to put them.  We remove heavy speakers from amps as they can crack baffles, especially amps with particle board chassis.  These cases require customers to reassemble amps.  It also costs us more.  The shipping cost is higher as a result.  We do this because we have experienced shipping issues in the past, and this is our prevention measure.  Vintage amps are sold as-is because they can need service intermittently.  Everything is tested here in our shop on the way into our inventory, and again before shipping.  We will cover shipping damage, but we cannot be responsible for the failure of vintage components in 20-to-50-plus year old amps. Shipments will require signature on delivery, no exceptions.  If there is damage, the buyer must retain all packing materials intact and picture them immediately and send them to sales@maharsvintageguitars.com.  Less than 1% of our shipments are damaged in transit, and we are committed to making sure your item arrives safely, but we are taking these additional measures to make sure you are happy with your purchase.
