The Larrivée D03-R (2000) is a finely crafted dreadnought acoustic guitar featuring a solid spruce top paired with solid Indian rosewood back and sides, offering the warm low-end resonance and articulate highs that make rosewood dreadnoughts legendary. Built in Larrivée’s renowned tradition of quality craftsmanship, this guitar delivers excellent projection, balance, and tonal clarity, making it ideal for both flatpicking and fingerstyle players.
This example was built while the company was based in Canada, and it is in amazing shape for a 25 year old guitar. There is very little wear on the frets and only light signs of use. The neck is straight and the truss rod has room for future neck relief adjustments. The saddle is mid-height and the action is low. No repairs, cracks, or issues.
The mahogany neck and ebony fingerboard provide smooth playability and long-lasting durability, while the understated satin finish highlights the natural beauty of its tonewoods and allows the guitar to breathe and resonate. Known for its reliability and tonal richness, the D03-R is considered one of Larrivée’s most versatile workhorse guitars, equally at home on stage, in the studio, or in a home collection.
This 2000 example comes in excellent condition and includes its hard case for safe storage and transport. Whether you are a collector seeking a well-preserved vintage Larrivée or a musician searching for a dependable, pro-level acoustic, this D03-R is a perfect choice.
At Mahar’s Vintage Guitars, every acoustic guitar is carefully photographed, inspected, and documented, ensuring authenticity and buyer confidence.
