This 2020 Headstrong Lil King Reverb is a boutique, hand-built amplifier that faithfully captures the sound, feel, and response of a great mid-’60s Princeton Reverb while adding modern reliability and meticulous craftsmanship. 

Fender's Princeton Reverb is the hardest amp for us to keep in stock because it fits what players are asking for:  killer tube tone and manageable volumes, all in a small, portable package. 

This Headstrong amp hits all of the points above in an extremely well executed package that bumps the Princeton's 10" speaker to a 12" for better frequency response and overall tone.  The vibrato is also upgraded to that of the earlier 1960s brown Fender amps.

Tonally, this amp excels at touch-sensitive cleans that extend to warm, musical overdrive as the volume is pushed. The amp is an ideal choice for recording, home playing, and small gigs where nuance and feel matter most.

This example is in excellent condition and performs flawlessly, offering all the magic of a vintage Princeton-style amp without the maintenance concerns. Headstrong’s hand-wired construction and attention to detail shine through in both tone and reliability, making this a serious working musician’s tool.

As with all amplifiers at Mahar’s Vintage Guitars, it has been fully inspected, photographed accurately, and evaluated for performance and authenticity.

We tested all the tubes and cleaned the pots to make sure it is good to go.

Shipping policy:

When you purchase this item you are hereby agreeing to this shipping policy. We remove tubes from amps that could be damaged in shipping.  These cases require the buyer to re-install them on delivery - it is very easy with this amp, and we label them so you know exactly where to put them.  We do this because we have experienced shipping issues in the past, and this is our prevention measure.  Vintage amps are sold as-is because they can need service intermittently.  Everything is tested here in our shop on the way into our inventory, and again before shipping.  We will cover shipping damage, but we cannot be responsible for the failure of vintage components in 20-to-50-plus year old amps. Shipments will require signature on delivery, no exceptions.  If there is damage, the buyer must retain all packing materials intact and picture them immediately and send them to sales@maharsvintageguitars.com.  Less than 1% of our shipments are damaged in transit, and we are committed to making sure your item arrives safely, but we are taking these additional measures to make sure you are happy with your purchase.
